Lumen

Lumen presents a female figure beneath a full moon, set within a blue-violet nocturnal field. The body is placed to the right and cropped by the lower edge of the canvas, while the moon holds the left side as a clear counterweight. The composition depends on this uneven balance: the figure has scale, gaze and bodily complexity; the moon has brightness, isolation and a strong circular form.

The face is the main point of concentration. The head tilts slightly forward, framed by pale, curling hair, and the eyes meet the viewer directly. This gaze gives the painting its still pressure. The body turns within the composition rather than facing it flatly, with the lowered hand and diagonal arms keeping the eye moving between face, moon and foreground.

Colour carries the structure of the image. Deep blue, cobalt, violet and lilac form the surrounding night, while the skin is built through creams, pinks, pale yellows and blue-grey shadows. The hair catches warmer yellow light on one side and cooler blue tones on the other, making the head the strongest meeting point of colour temperature. The flowers remain secondary: loose, broken marks across the upper field, useful for depth and rhythm, but subordinate to the figure.

Brushwork remains visible throughout. Broader planes shape the face, arms and clothing; longer curved strokes build the hair; shorter marks open the background into painterly texture. Lumen belongs to the part of Klaudia Wojciech’s practice where direct gaze, light and suspended attention carry the figure’s presence.
